The More I Move
The more I stay, the more the bright lights, the more insane and crushed together we’ve become. I hear the rain, it taps my window in this night, the more we dig in from the burn of the sun. And what we’ve done is what we’ve learned, and now it’s run off like an out of control treadmill, you and I are the dogs on it who won’t get off in turn, that lets me in to the bright lights and how they burn. Let me be still. Just stop and breathe, shaking quaking pulsing earth as it heaves, nothing stays still, not one thing moves me, painting disappears like a ship at sea. Long forgotten bedlam far away in memory, the more I stray the more the life of me, I forget where I even am. The more I love the more I understand I don’t understand at all. The more I love the more I understand I don’t understand at all.
The more I stray the more the night jumps at shadows, the tiny spikes I get out on my bike I feel the road, dust, and how it settles on my clothes, I’m not alone I’ve got my mind off matters. I sing the song as it emerges and now it fountains out of cervices, out of mind imagination to not return, I can’t recall what song I just sung. My dance is on the wheel, shift gears and phase me out of time and stand in movement with the fields, I have two wheels. So something still can move me, and if I can move a wheel then I can move me. I’ve forgotten this feeling, I’ve been away so long but I think I’ve never been too far at all, I’m right where I stand where I’ve forever been. The more I move the more I understand I don’t need to move at all. The more I love the more I understand I don’t understand at all. The more I move the more I understand I don’t need to move at all.
