Free download! Doc Pickles started this audiozine on June 16 2011, concluded work on it September 8, 2011. Spoonbender includes work he did with the Jim Storie Juniors on July 4, a couple of found tracks of work he did with Alastair MacLeod a decade ago (one of which involves Greg Chambers and Minesh Mandoda using power drills), a cover of one of his favorite Anabel's Poppy Day songs, and a continued love affair with the ukelele. Songs about dejection and despair sealed with a grin and a kiss, this is independant music and not to be mistaken for that other smacking-of-ambition music you would find at Bandcamp or any Newscorp owned music website. (not that there's anything wrong with ambition, lots of people are afflicted with ambition and it's nothing to be ashamed of, and with the right lifestyle changes or medications, ambition can be managed and it is entirely possible for people suffering from ambition to live happy lives.)
Doc Pickles, aka Duncan MacDonell, is cofounder and host of Wavelength Music Arts Projects. www.wavelengthtoronto.com
